Texas 7 Layer Dip

The perfect dish to bring to any tailgate! This Texas 7 Layer Dip is creamy, savory, and fresh. And since we use ground turkey in this recipe. it’s heart-healthy too! All you have to do is brown up ground turkey and add some Two-Step Chili Mix. Then you’ll layer together the rest of the ingredients and reap the rewards. Let your friends thank you later!

  • 3 Tbs vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 1 lb prepared guacamole
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1-3/4 cups Cookwell & Co. Two-Step Chili Mix
  • 4 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • 1 cup prepared pico de gallo
  • Corn Tortilla chips for dipping


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9- x 13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray; set aside. Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat.
  • When the oil is hot, add the ground turkey and cook, stirring to break up clumps of meat until meat is fully cooked with no traces of pink remaining. Drain off all fat and set aside.
  • In the prepared baking dish begin to layer the ingredients beginning with the can of refried beans, then the guacamole, sour cream, cooked turkey, Texas Two-Step Chili Mix, and the cheese.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Top with the prepared pico de gallo and serve with a basket of corn tortilla chips!
