Green Chile Pork Roast

Delicious, fix-it & forget it crock pot roast.

Serves 6-8 / Prep Time: 15 mins / Cook Time: 480 mins


  • 1 3-5 pound boneless pork shoulder roast
  • Salt and cracked black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 white onion, chopped
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 jar Cookwell & Co. Two-Step Green Chile Stew Mix



Season the pork roast all over with salt and pepper; place in bottom of large crock pot.


Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the onion and cook, stirring often, until it is lightly browned, about 7 minutes. Add the orange juice and Texas Two-Step Green Chili Stew Mix. Bring to a simmer and cook for about4 minutes.

Pour the onion mixture into the crock pot over the roast and cook for 6 to 8 hours, or until the meat is very tender. Serve with rice, spooning some of the sauce over the rice.
