In Italian, cacciatore means “hunter,” however in cuisine, it refers to a meal prepared “hunter-style” with tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, herbs, and carrots. It is supposed to be a simple meal, however these days who has time to prepare this wonderful dish? We at Cookwell recognize the greatness of this dish and decided to come up with a Two-Step Cacciatore Mix. Just as you would, we start with hand-picked tomatoes and garden fresh onions, then we mix in fresh, thinly sliced mushrooms. We top it off with some aromatic cloves of garlic and all you have to do is add the chicken. Feel free to pour over noodles or rice and for a unique variation to the traditional cacciatore, we recommend trying sausage or shrimp. Enjoy!
