The ULTIMATE Frito Pie

Let's be real - how could you not love Frito pie? It's just a few simple ingredients, but they come together to make the most addictingly delicious pie/casserole/concoction that keeps you coming back for more. Making our Two-Step Chili will cut out a lot of steps, and make the whole thing come together in the blink of an eye. The reason we've deemed it the ULTIMATE Frito Pie is the addition of jalapeno sausage - something you didn't know your Frito pie was missing. So throw those Fritos in your grocery cart and get ready for the ultimate weeknight dinner!
Ingredients
- 1 Jar Cookwell & Co. Two-Step Chili
- 1 lb. ground meat
- 1 pkg jalapeno sausage (pre-cooked)
- 2 cans (15oz) pinto beans (rinsed and drained)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 12oz bag of Fritos
- 1 cup Mexican blend cheese
Directions
Sausage: preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Place the sausages on a sheet pan and put in the oven a few minutes, until warmed.
Chili: Brown the ground meat in a large pan until cooked though. Add the jar of chili and simmer for 5 minutes.
Once the sausage has been warmed, remove from the oven and slice thinly.
In a 9x13 baking dish, layer Fritos, pinto beans, sausage, sour cream and chili mix. Top with cheese.
Bake for 20 minutes until hot and bubbly. Let sit for 5 minutes. Serve Frito pie with green onions, chives, hot sauce, salsa, or all of the above1
