Two-Step Chili Dogs

There's nothing quite like a hot dog on a summer's day - it's one of those perfect combinations, like peanut butter and jelly, or chips and salsa. A classic hot dog is always great, but sometimes you want something a little more. Well, we've got you covered with these chili dogs! It's only got 2 more steps than making a regular old hot dog, but multiplies the flavor factor by 10. You'll also have leftover chili to enjoy all week, or freeze until you start to feel that hint of autumn breeze in the air. They're low-effort and high-reward, and you can customize your chili dogs however you see fit.
Ingredients for Chili Dogs
- 1 lb. ground beef
- Cookwell Two-Step Chili Mix
- 8 all-beef hot dogs
- 8 hot dog buns
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 1 diced white onion
- Optional additional toppings: jalapenos, green onions, Fritos
Directions
- Add the ground beef to a pan over medium heat. Cook until thoroughly browned. Add chili mix and bring to a simmer. Yep, that's it!
- There are half a dozen ways to cook a hot dog, so we'll leave it up to you to decide your method. Although, we're think that grilling makes for the best flavor. If grilling, flip and cook for 5-10 mins, depending on the size of your dogs.
- Serve 'em up! Spoon on some chili, shredded cheese, diced onion, and any other toppings you like. There are no rules for chili dogs!
